FanDuel Sportsbook New York launch

FanDuel Sportsbook became one of the first online sportsbooks to launch in the Empire State when it did so on January 8, 2022.

New York is home to three teams in the NFL (New York Jets, New York Giants, Buffalo Bills) and NHL (Buffalo Sabres, New York Islanders, New York Rangers), two teams in the NBA (Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks), MLB (New York Yankees, New York Mets) and MLS (New York Red Bulls, New York FC) and one team in the WNBA (New York Liberty). And you can bet on all those leagues and teams at FanDuel Sportsbook NY.

FanDuel Sportsbook Louisiana launch

FanDuel Louisiana went live on the morning of January 28, 2022, in the Pelican State. The biggest in-state pro teams that Louisiana sports bettors can wager on are the NFL’s New Orleans Saints and the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans. On the college front, you’ve got the LSU Tigers leading the way with other popular teams such as the Tulane Green Wave, Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns and Grambling State Tigers also available to wager on.

In Louisiana, you can not wager on sports remotely unless you’re in one of the 55 parishes where sports betting is permitted. That leaves nine parishes where online sports betting is prohibited. Those banned parishes are Caldwell, Franklin, West Carroll, Catahoula, Jackson, LaSalle, Sabine, Union and Winn. FanDuel LA uses geolocation tracking software and geofencing to prevent you from betting in any off-limit areas.

FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona launch

Add Arizona to the growing list of states that feature FanDuel online and retail sportsbooks. FanDuel teamed up with the Phoenix Suns and the pair plan to open a brick-and-mortar location at Footprint Center, home of the Suns and the WNBA’s Phoenix Mercury. But before that, you can use the online FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona that launched September 2021.

According to plans the retail sportsbook will be more than 7,400 square feet and feature 40 HDTVs, a 35-foot video wall, 26 betting kiosks, five in-person betting windows and one VIP betting window. But don’t forget, with FanDuel’s mobile app you’ll be able to do all your betting from your smartphone or tablet.

Sports betting went live in the Grand Canyon State on Sept. 9, 2021 in conjunction with the start of the NFL’s 2021 regular season. On top of the Suns and Mercury, Arizona residents will be able to wager on the Arizona Diamondbacks (MLB), Arizona Coyotes (NHL) and Arizona Cardinals (NFL) at FanDuel. In-state college wagering also is permitted, so the Arizona State Sun Devils and Arizona Wildcats should see quite a few bets as well.

There are a couple restrictions that Arizonans need to be aware of however. First, the legal betting age in the state is 21. Second, mobile bets are only allowed if you are physically present in Arizona when placing them. FanDuel utilized geolocation software to track users’ location and prevent betting from outside the state.

To get started at FanDuel Sportsbook Arizona you’ll want to use our links to sign. By doing so the first bet you make will be risk free for upwards of $1,000. And if it loses you’ll be refunded in FanDuel site credit which can be wagered just like cash. No FanDuel Arizona bonus code is required to receive this offer.

FanDuel Sportsbook overview

FanDuel, best known for being a juggernaut in the $3.2 billion annual DFS industry, is putting its money and reputation behind online sports betting. Following its sale to Paddy Power Betfair, the new FanDuel Group is asserting more of the same dominance in the new vertical.

The company made its US sports betting debut in New Jersey in 2018, opening a stunning sportsbook at Meadowlands. That prime location, coupled with a world-class sportsbook app, have allowed it to surge to the top of the NJ online sports betting market.

Downloading the FanDuel app

To experience FanDuel for yourself, you will need to download the app. Regardless of how you can register in your location, the procedure for downloading the app will be the same.

The first thing to do is to click through our link above. Doing so will ensure that you can take advantage of that great bonus offer.

Once you click through, you’ll go to the download page for your device. Apple (iOS) users will see very little difference in downloading the FanDuel Sportsbook app than the process for any other app.

Android users will need to set their phones to accept downloads from unknown sources before they proceed. Then, you should be able to download and install the .apk file from FanDuel directly.

Once you’ve installed the app, look for the green “Join Now” button in the top left. Press it to begin registering.

Creating a new account at FanDuel Sportsbook

FanDuel makes the registration process quick and painless.

Customers need to enter their name, date of birth, email address, phone number, physical address, and social security number during sign-up. Players must also create a username/password and answer two additional security questions.

In the unlikely event that your account flags a security review, some customers may be required to submit photo identification. The company may also ask for proof of address as well as proof of ownership of any credit cards and bank accounts affiliated with the account.

FanDuel Sportsbook eligibility

Adults 21 years or older are eligible to create a FanDuel account.

Betting itself, however, must be conducted within the borders of a regulated jurisdiction. For FanDuel, that list currently includes Michigan, New Jersey, Arizona, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Iowa, Tennessee, Virginia, Connecticut and Colorado.

Residency is not required, but bettors must be physically located in one of those states to place a wager. For instance, you don’t have to live in Iowa to use an Iowa sportsbook, but you do have to be within the state’s borders when you place a bet.

Individual state laws provide additional restrictions on certain bettors or betting options, including athletes, coaches, trainers, and other sports officials who might be able to influence the outcome.

FanDuel Sportsbook bet types

If you can bet it, you can find it at FanDuel Sportbook.

The platform comes fully equipped to handle straight bets, propositions, parlays, teasers, and futures on almost every major (and not-so-major) sporting event in the world. It also offers live in-play wagering, which is becoming a must-have feature for modern sportsbook operators.

In-play betting refers to any action after an event has started, and the odds fluctuate while the match is in progress.

FanDuel Sportsbook available sports

FanDuel Sportsbook offers wagers on a huge roster of sports, such as:

  • Football (NFL and NCAA)
  • Basketball (NBA and NCAA)
  • Baseball
  • Hockey
  • Tennis
  • Golf
  • Motorsports
  • Cycling
  • Darts
  • Cricket
  • Rugby

There are, however, a few small variations in the laws of each state that create a slightly different menu for bettors. The law in New Jersey, for example, does not permit betting on in-state collegiate athletics.

FanDuel Sportsbook mobile app

FanDuel offers mobile betting for both iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android, and the app experience is just as good as the desktop site.

Both the desktop site and the mobile app feature a menu of shortcuts that take you directly to your sport of choice. There are also tabs that direct to all the live events where you can place in-play wagers. FanDuel Sportsbook is among the best at tempting the eyes of bettors, with marquee matchups highlighted in the “Popular” and “Upcoming” tabs.

Registration via the app is just as easy as it is on the desktop site too.

FanDuel Sportsbook payment methods

Though the methods may vary from state to state, FanDuel’s ease of operation extends to the way it handles deposits and withdrawals. Transactions are available via:

  • Credit & Debit card
  • FanDuel prepaid card
  • PayPal
  • ACH (eCheck)
  • Online Bank Transfer
  • Wire Transfer
  • PayNearMe
  • Check

FanDuel does caution its credit card patrons about the possibility that the issuer may treat online gaming deposits as a cash advance, attaching extra fees as a result. Bettors can generally expect to receive withdrawal payments via the method used for the deposit.

Cash at the casino cage

There is one other way to deposit money into your FanDuel account. Since FanDuel has so many retail locations scattered across the United States, you can deposit directly into your account at one of its counters. This option is especially important if you typically use cash – it is possible to make a cash deposit in this manner.

Here are some locations where cash at cage is likely to be available.

  • Indiana:
    • Belterra Casino Resort, 777 Belterra Drive, Florence
    • Blue Chip Casino Hotel Spa, 777 Blue Chip Dr, Michigan City
  • Iowa:
    • Diamond Jo Casino Dubuque, 301 Bell St, Dubuque
    • Diamond Jo Casino Worth, 777 Diamond Jo Ln, Northwood
  • Mississippi:
    • IP Casino, 850 Bayview Ave, Biloxi
    • Sam’s Town Hotel and Gambling Hall Tunica, 1477 Casino Strip Resort Blvd, Robinsonville
  • New Jersey:
    • Meadowlands Racetrack, 1 Racetrack Drive, East Rutherford
  • Michigan:
    • MotorCity Casino, 2901 Grand River Ave, Detroit
  • Illinois:
    • FanDuel Sportsbook & Horse Racing, 9301 Collinsville Road, Collinsville
  • West Virginia:
    • The Greenbrier, 101 W Main St, White Sulphur Springs
  • New York:
    • Tioga Downs Casino Resort, 2384 W River Rd, Nichols
  • Pennsylvania:
    • Valley Forge Casino Resort, 1160 1st Ave, King of Prussia

It’s a good idea to call ahead if you’re planning to deposit in this method. Both to confirm that the location will fund your online account, and if it’s a withdrawal you might save yourself some wait time if you give the folks in the cage 24 hours notice.

Which states allow FanDuel Sportsbook?

FanDuel has expanded its reach tremendously in the past few years. The sportsbook has been at the forefront of launches in most new sports betting states. There are both online and retail versions of FanDuel in several states. So, here are the details about each version that you might find.

Online sports betting is clearly the wave of the future, and FanDuel Sportsbook is more than happy to be one of the leaders of the movement. The company is often either the first to enter each new state, the soon-to-be market leader, or both. At present, there are seven states with online sports betting and FanDuel Sportsbook. They are:

Arizona online sports betting launched in September of 2021 and FanDuel was there on the first day. FanDuel is partnered with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.

FanDuel Sportsbook came joined the Colorado sports betting market in May 2020 as one of the first sportsbooks in the state. Its in-state partner is the Golden Gates Casino in Black Hawk. Remote registration is perfectly acceptable in Colorado, which is a good thing, since it’s not always possible to travel to the three mountain towns where Colorado sportsbooks are located. With the exception of prop betting for collegiate events, you can bet on almost anything in Colorado.

October 2021 saw the arrival of online gambling to Connecticut. Unsurprisingly, despite there being a very limited number of licenses, FanDuel secured its spot and FanDuel online sportsbook is live in CT.

FanDuel Illinois became a reality in August 2020. The app went live in the Prairie State through a deal with Boyd Gaming’s Par-A-Dice Casino, but in spring 2021 they switched licensing partners to FanDuel Sportsbook & Horse Racing in Collinsville.

FanDuel has been an active sportsbook in Indiana since October 2019. It is operating through the Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City, which is owned by FanDuel’s close partner, Boyd Gaming. It is perfectly fine to register for a FanDuel account in Indiana through your mobile device or computer. However, you cannot bet on esports or high school events, and live betting is solely at the discretion of the Indiana Gaming Commission.

FanDuel Iowa became a reality in September 2020. As part of the company’s continuing relationship with Boyd Gaming, FanDuel has established itself as a partner with the Diamond Jo casinos in Dubuque and Northwood. Like many states, Iowa gambling does not permit live betting on college teams from the state. You also must restrict your wagering to true sporting events – esports and nonsports are not permissible as wagering markets.

Mobile sports betting went live in Louisiana on January 28, 2022. FanDuel Louisiana was one of the first sportsbooks to launch that day.

Online betting is not legal throughout the state. Instead, it is only allowed in 55 of Louisiana’s 64 parishes. The LA parishes where sports betting is prohibited are Caldwell, Franklin, West Carroll, Catahoula, Jackson, LaSalle, Sabine, Union and Winn. You also are not allowed to bet remotely on the tribal lands of these Louisiana tribes: Chitimacha Tribe, Coushatta Tribe, Tunica-Biloxi Indian Tribe and Jena Band of Choctaw Indians.

FanDuel Michigan launched on January 22, 2021. FanDuel has partnered with MotorCity Casino in Detroit for its Michigan online sports betting site and retail sportsbook. Along with BetMGM and DraftKings, FanDuel was one of the odds-on favorites to be the first to launch an online sportsbook in the Great Lake State.

New Jersey

FanDuel Sportsbook entered the New Jersey sports wagering scene in September 2018. Its land-based partner, Meadowlands Raceway, offered a significant opportunity on both the online and retail sides of business due to its close proximity to New York City. It is possible to register for an account from anywhere in the Garden State. However, you cannot wager on any in-state colleges in New Jersey, and you cannot bet any collegiate events that take place in New Jersey.

New York

Online sportsbooks are live in New York. In November of 2021, the New York State Gaming Commission recommended that FanDuel, along with eight other operators, be given mobile sports betting licenses. This resulted in FanDuel being among the first four regulated online sportsbooks to launch in New York, going live on Saturday, January 8.

FanDuel became an online sportsbook for Pennsylvania residents and visitors in July 2019. The site’s debut came courtesy of a partnership with Valley Forge Casino. Remote registration is perfectly acceptable in Pennsylvania, so you don’t need to visit Valley Forge to start playing with FanDuel. However, you will have to place bets on sporting events only in Pennsylvania – wagering on non-sports or esports is not permitted under state law.

Tennessee is a bit of an oddball state to join the US sports betting revolution. After all, the Volunteer State has no land-based casinos of any kind and has been resistant to gambling expansions in the past. Nevertheless, the first operators went live in Tennessee’s online sports betting industry on November 1, 2020.

FanDuel was one of the first books to appear in Tennessee, launching on the very first day it was allowed in the state.

Virginia joins Tennessee as the country’s second online-only sports betting location. Both states do not have retail sports betting on account of the utter lack of gambling venues inside their borders. However, both areas have decided that sports betting represents too juicy of an opportunity for needed tax revenue to ignore.

FanDuel has a tendency to be one of the first operators in any market. Virginia sports betting went live on January 21, 2021 and FanDuel Sportsbook was there from day one.

West Virginia

West Virginia sports betting welcomed FanDuel Sportsbook as an online app in August 2019. FanDuel launched its online version as an expansion of its ongoing relationship with The Greenbrier. West Virginia is one of the least restrictive states when it comes to legal flexibility. You can register for a FanDuel account from anywhere inside the state lines, and every type of betting (aside from high school sports, which is not available in any state) is acceptable.

FanDuel Wyoming went live on March 10, 2022, in the Cowboy State. Currently, Wyoming is an online-only sportsbook state, so FanDuel does not have a casino partner and does not have a retail sportsbook.

FanDuel has also not been shy about opening retail sportsbook locations throughout the US in the past few years. There are now FanDuel stations in no fewer than nine states, and there’s no end to the expansion in sight. Here are the in-person locations that you can visit to place a wager with FanDuel:
