USPoker.com is reporting that Paul Leggett is out at Amaya Gaming, citing an internal company email.

Amaya is involved in a number of partnerships in the New Jersey market for regulated online gambling, including relationships with Caesars, The Borgata, Trump Plaza and The Golden Nugget.

Amaya received a transactional waiver from New Jersey regulators today, a functional green light for the company’s operations in the regulated NJ market.

Leggett remains a controversial figure in the online poker industry thanks to his proximity to the CEREUS Network and the scandals that engulfed Ultimate Poker and Absolute Poker.

It is not clear if there is a direct connection between Leggett’s departure and Amaya’s New Jersey approval, but the timing has led some to speculate that more than coincidence is at play.
