Steve Wynn doesn’t seem to do many things on a small scale.
That’s why it’s especially interesting to read reports that the casino mogul is in talks with social gaming kingpin Zynga. From Forbes:
Wynn Resorts is in talks with Zynga, the world’s largest social gaming developer, in order to create a strategic online partnership. We believe partnering with Zynga will give Wynn Resorts access to Zynga’s wider customer base which is spread globally.
This isn’t the first time Steve Wynn has had an online poker room on his dance card. Before a little thing called Black Friday, Wynn was in advanced talks with PokerStars – advanced enough to announce the partnership publicly. From the LVRJ back on 3/24/11:
Wynn Resorts Ltd. announced a partnership with PokerStars to operate an a U.S.-based online poker website should federal legislation allowing Internet gambling be passed.
In a statement released late Thursday by Wynn Resorts, Wynn officials said the companies will work to secure passage of federal Internet gaming legislation.
That pairing ended abruptly after the DoJ moved against Stars and Full Tilt, but it seems Wynn’s interest in the sphere hasn’t waned. Now the question: Will Zynga take on Wynn’s model or will Wynn take on Zynga’s?
