The company passed the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement’s five-day trial period with flying colors and is now open for business in the Garden State.
A quick look at the games and stakes available at PokerStars NJ makes it very clear that the site expects to overtake the other operators in the New Jersey online poker market in short order, considering the plethora of options it’s already offering.
Here is a comprehensive look at the cash games options; Sit & Go and Multi-Table Tournaments available; and casino games you’ll find at PokerStars in New Jersey.
No Limit and Pot Limit games are available at the following stakes:
PokerStars NJ’s limit cash games include the following stakes:
Note: Not all stakes are available for all game types.
For instance, Limit Holdem games can be found at each level, but Limit Stud and Triple Draw games are only spread at the $.50/$1 and $1/$2 levels. The same holds true for No Limit and Pot Limit games, as No Limit Holdem tables are spread at all stakes, but Pot limit Omaha games are only offered at stakes of $.01/$.02, $.05/$.10, $.25/$.50, $.50/$1, and $1/$2.
It should also be noted that the lobby also contains filters for a number of other games that are not available. Several games will likely never be added (Limit Omaha High and Pot Limit Holdem), but several of these could be added down the road:
There is also a lobby tab for PokerStars popular Zoom (fast/fold) poker games, but as of now there are no Zoom pools running at the site.
Stakes for these games range from $.25 to $500.
Structures for these Sit & Go’s include Regular, Turbo, Hyper Turbo, and 50/50 tournaments.
I suspect PokerStars will add several other games to its Sit & Go lobby, as well as Knockout, Shootout, and Satellite formats in the future.
The tournament lobby is heavy on No Limit Holdem tournaments (not much of a surprise there). Pot Limit Omaha games encompass most of the other tournament options, although you will find the occasional Omaha 8 or better and Stud tournament.
As far as tournament speeds, Slow, Regular, Turbo, and Hyper Turbo tournaments are available, with a number of different structures offered, including:
Stakes for these tournaments range from free to $500, with the vast majority all falling within the $1 to $20 range.
Unlike its Zoom games, PokerStars other extremely popular format, the site’s Spin & Go jackpot hyper-turbo tournaments, are already available in New Jersey.
Stakes for the three-handed jackpot tournaments are currently limited to:
However, the appeal of Spin & Go’s is the potential for a jackpot. Prize pool multipliers for these tournaments in New Jersey range from 2x to 1,200x, so after the tournament fee is subtracted, players can win up to 1,000 times their initial buy-in.
Finally, PokerStars New Jersey currently offers a small selection of casino games, but I expect the list of slot titles and table games to continue to expand over time.
