The Rational Group continues to evolve following the acquisition of the company by Amaya in August 2014.

The latest development: new names in the COO and CMO slots for Rational, which houses the PokerStars and Full Tilt brands.

The changes, which were announced internally today, were confirmed to OPR by sources at the company.

The new Chief Operating Officer at Rational is Israel Rosenthal. The position was previously held by Rafi Ashkenazi.

Prior to assuming the COO position, Rosenthal served in various operations oversight roles for the Rational Group.

Ashkenazi will be transitioning to a role at Amaya, sources tell OPR.

Gino Appiotti will be assuming the duties of Chief Marketing Officer, replacing Alex Payne.

Payne, who had been with the company in the CMO role since August 2011, is now in a similar role at eBay Europe.

Appiotti has been with Rational for just over three years, previously acting as President of Southern European operations.

In that role, Appiotti was at the vanguard of Rational’s shift from poker-only to a broader suite of gaming products, experience that should prove handy as PokerStars continues an aggressive rollout of casino, sports betting, and possibly DFS in 2015.
